The Bake Off is back! And we are already two weeks in. Personally, it’s not feeding my sweet cravings when it’s only on once a week! It’s a very exciting time for any baker. Or cake eater. The iconic Channel 4 show is filled with joy, laughs, and frantic baking! In the BONRAW tent, we’ve been inspired to showcase our 3 favourite recipes that we’d bake for our very own, signature bake, technical challenge, and of course the most spectacular of them all… the showstopper!

Theme: Dessert Week

We’re delving into our favourite theme, Dessert Week! We love creating recipes that people can use as their quick and easy Sunday dinner recipe, or for the more adventurous daredevil types, we’ve also developed dessert recipes that are a little more hands on and require some patience in the kitchen.

Round 1: Signature Bake

So first up is the signature bake, where the bakers are tested on their creative flair and baking ability. Their main challenge here is to create something that looks homemade and rustic, and they also get the chance to flex their muscles by showing off their tried and tested bakes.

If the BONRAW Team was in the tent then we’d recreate our take on the classic Tiramisu, our Maple & Chocolate Tiramisu, also known as our ‘Maple-misu’!

We’re staying safe with our signature bake and putting together this delicious and effortless dessert. We’re going to assume that Paul Hollywood will let us get away with not baking our own ladyfingers (well maybe not Paul, but Prue may show us some mercy). If we’re in the clear, then we will be able

to put this beauty together in 40 minutes and still have some time to refrigerate it. (Well, here’s hoping no one removes our tiramisu from the fridge… if you know, you know). We know this will be an easy win with the judges because our extra special ingredient is BONRAW’s Organic Fine Maple Sugar, which provides next-level flavour delivering a warm treacly touch to this mature dessert.

Round 2: Technical Challenge

And we’re straight onto round 2, let’s hope round 1 went well for us so we can be off to a great start in arguably the hardest round of the Bake-Off (feel free to disagree). So, let’s crack on with our Coconut Crème Brulée, a French delicacy and the perfect dessert for your fancy dinner party.

If done right this will blow the judges away, if done wrong you will have scrambled eggs. So, it’s a very eligible contender for the technical challenge. For our twist on the classic, we have infused our crème brulee with ripe coconut flavour and matched it with the caramelised aroma of BONRAW’s Organic Coconut Blossom Sugar. And of course, for the final touches, ignite your torch and turn the sugar into a picture-perfect crystal crust!

Round 3: Showstopper

It all comes down to this! Our showstopper, the challenge where you get to exhibit your artistry and even add a little personal touch to your creation. We’ve opted for a dessert that is equal in its beauty and technical skill. Our Plum & Almond Semifreddo.

This dessert will invite the joys of summer back into your life, with creamy and ripe flavours that pop in the mouth, it’s ice cream’s elegant and superior offspring. The almonds are brought to life in this semifreddo and make for an exciting textural component. BONRAW’s Organic Panela adds the perfect balance of rustic sweetness to this fruity dessert. This recipe requires care and attention, but we’ll let you in on a little secret… it’s easier to make than it looks. It’s all about getting your timing right and if you follow our recipe then you’ll be onto a showstopping performance.
